This archaeological site could prove humans lived in northern Sask. earlier than we thought

Andrea Freeman, an archeologist with the University of Calgary, points out a dark line known as a paleosol. The colour was created after ancient soils decomposed, offering clues into the types of plants and vegetation in the area thousands of years ago.

A team of archaeologists is searching near Prince Albert, Sask., for clues as to exactly when Indigenous people arrived in the area nearly 10,000 years ago. They're working at one of the oldest and best-preserved sites on the western Prairies.
